Pakistan beats Netherlands by 3 wickets as Faheem Ashraf slams 24 in one over at T20 World Cup 2026
Pakistan survived a scare to seal a three-wicket win over the Netherlands in its T20 World Cup 2026 campaign opener in Colombo on Saturday.
Chasing 148, Pakistan needed 29 off 12 when Faheem Ashraf tore into Logan van Beek, smashing three sixes and a four to swing the game decisively in his side’s favour and leave just five to get off the final over. Ashraf also got a reprieve off the second ball of the penultimate over when Max O’Dowd spilled a straightforward chance at long on.
Pakistan next face the USA on Feb 10 at the same venue, while the Netherlands meets Namibia in Delhi on the same day.
