The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) completed 100 years in 2025. As part of its centenary celebrations, a grand and dignified two-day event was held at a sprawling auditorium in Mumbai on February 7 and February 8, with several prominent personalities from various fields and industrialists in attendance. The Bollywood film fraternity was not far behind. But one celebrity who stood out at the event was none other than Jackie Shroff.

While stars usually fight for front rows, Jackie Shroff quietly sits at the back at the RSS 100-year celebration event, and makes a powerful statementAs it happens in such events, all film stars were seated at the very front. But Jackie Shroff was an exception. He was seated in the last row of the auditorium, which surprised the attendees of the event. It has come to light that Jackie deliberately chose the seat for himself. The organizers gracefully escorted him to the front as was done for all industrialists, film celebrities, educationists, scientists, etc. However, he was clear that he didn’t want VIP-style treatment and wanted to sit among the masses or not-so-popular personalities present at the venue.

This gesture of Jackie Shroff is not surprising and it’s this quality that makes him the hero of the masses. He speaks the language of the common man. He has popularized the word ‘bhidu’ and this has helped him be relatable to the man on the street. That’s why only he could turn down a front-row seat and quietly take his place at the very back, living to his own public persona.
