Sonam Kapoor marked a special milestone over the weekend by hosting an intimate godh bharai ceremony at her Mumbai residence. Expecting her second child with husband Anand Ahuja, the actor kept the celebration traditional yet understated, transforming her home into a serene, floral-themed space for the occasion.

Adding a contemporary touch, she styled the outfit with a floor-length cape worn in a relaxed pallu drape instead of a conventional dupatta. She completed the look with a sleek bun, a bold red lip, and heritage gold jewellery, including a statement necklace and stacked bangles. Anand Ahuja complemented her look in a classic white kurta-pyjama and was seen by her side throughout the rituals. The ceremony centred around a traditional puja, with Sonam and Anand performing rituals together in the presence of close family members.

The décor reflected a blend of tradition and modern aesthetics. The Kapoor residence was adorned with hanging purple florals, birds-of-paradise installations, and delicate paper birds suspended from the ceiling. Rustic wooden tables were lined with tall white and purple floral arrangements, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

The celebration was attended by several friends and members of the film fraternity. Anupam Kher shared a photograph with the mom-to-be, extending his blessings, while Bhumi Pednekar was also present at the gathering. Other guests included Sonam’s cousins – Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, her aunt Maheep Kapoor, her uncle Boney Kapoor, among others and family friends such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhavna Pandey, Shabana Azmi, and Masaba Gupta.

Miheeka Daggubati, wife of actor Rana Daggubati, shared moments from the ceremony on social media and penned a note for Sonam that read, “Another little heartbeat joining a family I love so dearly. From childhood days when I followed you around, to now watching you have your own little ones who will do the same, it’s been so special to witness you both build this beautiful life. So much love for this next chapter.”

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who tied the knot in May 2018, welcomed their first child, son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, in August 2022. The actress announced her second pregnancy in November 2025 with a fashion-forward post inspired by Princess Diana, captioned ‘MOTHER’. With the baby due in spring 2026, the Ahuja-Kapoor family is preparing to welcome a new addition.
