Here is how the points table looks like.
As teams prepare for their final round of group games, here is how the qualification race for Super Eight stands:
Group A
India is the only team from this group to have assured itself of qualification after winning its opening three games, the latest being the massive 61-run victory over Pakistan on Sunday.
Pakistan is still the favourite to make the Super Eight from this group. It faces Namibia in its final game and a win take the side through. However, if it loses, USA, which has two wins, will advance by virtue of a superior Net Run Rate (NRR).
Group B
Sri Lanka became the first team in Group B to advance through to Super Eight after it beat Australia by eight wickets.
The result meant Australia was pushed to the brink of elimination. It can go through only if Zimbabwe loses both its remaining matches and has a worse NRR than Australia. If Zimbabwe wins one of the two, Australia will be knocked out.
Further, Australia would also need a superior NRR to Ireland, which could also end up with four points if it beats Zimbabwe.
Group C
England defeated Italy by 24 runs on Monday to pick its third win of the tournament and qualify for the Super Eight round. West Indies was already through with three wins from three games.
Group D
South Africa qualified for the Super Eight after Afghanistan beat UAE on Monday. New Zealand will join the Proteas if it wins its last group match against Canada.
In the unlikely scenario of a Canada win, Afghanistan will have a shot at going through with a massive victory against Canada.
