T20 World Cup 2026: What does Pakistan need to do to qualify for Super Eight?

Pakistan takes on Namibia in its final Group A match in the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Wednesday.

A lot rides on the outcome of this match for Salman Agha’s team, which is yet to secure its place in the Super Eights.

A marauding defeat at the hands of India on Sunday saw Pakistan slip to third place in the group, behind USA, which also has just two wins like Pakistan but a far superior Net Run Rate. India is already through after winning all its three games.

Hence, a defeat on Wednesday against Namibia will lead to elimination, handing the Super Eight berth to USA. Pakistan needs to win, or secure one point, to go through to the next round of the tournament.

If it manages to qualify, Pakistan will face England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in the Super Eights.
