Of course, everyone is. But Salman’s hero worship for his dad is on another level. He was shooting with Apoorva Lakhia for Battle Of Galwan when Salim saab was hospitalized. Salman insisted on completing the shooting before heading to the hospital.”

At the Lilavati Hospital (Mumbai), Salman was accosted by hordes and hordes of photographers shouting ‘Sallu Bhai!’ as though he had just arrived at a film party.

“It was horrific, the insensitivity,” said the friend. “Salman was very upset. But he couldn’t show his anger as it would have triggered another wave of anti-Salman opinions on his arrogance, etc. So he just swallowed his annoyance.”

Shatrughan Sinha a very close friend of the Khan family recalls when his mother passed away the public kept shouting Reena Roy’s name in Patna. “There has to be some amount of empathy. I understand they are excited to see their favourite star. Lekin waqt ka taqaza samjho (understand the sensitivity of the moment). Recently, the same happened with my dear much-missed friend Dharmendra. His family was put through the worst kind of scrutiny as they struggled with their grief. Please don’t do this.”
