Buying AC only after seeing the ton (Capacity)- Many people decide only after seeing 1 ton, 1.5 ton or 2 ton. While the size of the room, height of the ceiling, direction of sunlight and insulation are also important.

1 Ton: 100-120 sqft, 1.5 Ton: 120-180 sqft and 2 Ton: Large rooms. A very small AC will run continuously and consume more power, while a large AC will waste energy by frequent on/off.

Ignoring inverter technology- Non-inverter AC is certainly cheaper, but the compressor switches on/off repeatedly, which increases power consumption. Inverter adjusts AC speed, provides faster cooling and can save up to 30-50% electricity. Inverter is a better option for long term.

Underestimating the brand, service and features – It is wrong to buy just by looking at the price. Make sure to check service center availability, 10 years compressor warranty, copper condenser, auto-clean and anti-bacterial features. Wrong installation can also increase the electricity bill.
