Earlier it was closed, now preparations are being made to bring it back, users will be happy with the new feature of YouTube, big change,

Video streaming platform YouTube may be preparing to bring back the Direct Messaging (DM) feature once again. According to reports, the company is currently testing this feature with limited users. Some users have reported seeing a new messaging interface in the app.

If this feature launches, users will be able to share videos and chat right within the YouTube app, without having to go to another messaging app.

Let us tell you that earlier also a messaging system existed in YouTube, through which users could share videos and send short messages in a private manner. But the company had discontinued this feature in 2019.

At that time, YouTube said that most of the users were using other messaging apps to share videos and communicate, so the need for this feature within the platform had diminished.

Why is testing happening now?
According to new reports, YouTube is now exploring the possibility of bringing back this feature in a new way. Some users have reported that they are seeing an interface where they can directly send videos to other users and can also chat.

Currently, this feature is available to very limited users and has not been rolled out on a large scale yet.

Effort to increase user engagement
Nowadays almost all social media platforms are paying more attention to messaging and private sharing. By doing this, users spend more time on the platform.

If YouTube launches this feature after testing, it can give users a new way to discuss videos with friends, send recommendations and share content.

However, the company has not yet clarified when this feature will be launched globally or whether it will happen or not. At present it is only in the testing stage.
