After waiting for many years, Apple can launch its first foldable smartphone this year, which is currently known as iPhone Fold. The company has not yet shared any information officially, but according to reports, this device can be introduced with the iPhone 18 Pro series.

Recently, a tipster named Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo has claimed that the production orders of iPhone Fold have started and it can be launched this year. The biggest update is related to its display. According to the leak, this foldable may have a crease depth of only 0.15mm on the inner display.

The shallower the crease depth, the less visible and less noticeable the fold line is during scrolling. If this claim turns out to be true, it could solve the biggest challenge of foldable phones so far – the display crease.

The report also says that the crease angle can be kept less than 2.5 degrees, which will make the folding area appear more flat and smooth. Even after prolonged use, the possibility of deep lines forming on the screen may be reduced.

How much can the price be?
Talking about the price, the tipster has described it as ‘conservative’, although no exact price range was shared. The price of its potential competitor in the market, Galaxy Z Fold 7, is around Rs 1.75 lakh in India. In such a situation, it can be expected that Apple will also keep the price of its foldable in this premium range.

If these leaks prove to be true, then the iPhone Fold will not only be Apple’s first foldable, but can also set a new direction in the foldable segment by providing a solution to a major problem like display crease.
