India recorded its highest PowerPlay score in T20 World Cups during its 2026 final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday .
Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson utilised the field restrictions to post 92 runs in the first six overs. This was also the joint-highest total in T20 World Cup matches. West Indies had also scored 92 against Afghanistan in 2024.
India’s previous best during the field restrictions was 86, which came earlier in this World Cup against Namibia in New Delhi.
