Scheduled message feature will come soon in WhatsApp, know what will be the benefits.

A feature which was awaited for a long time is soon going to be available on the world’s most popular messaging platform WhatsApp. According to the report, the company is working on a scheduled message feature, through which users will be able to send messages at a pre-determined time.

Information about this feature has been given by WABetaInfo. Recently, some new code and interface elements have been seen in the TestFlight beta build, which suggests that this feature is currently in the development stage.

In the shared screenshot, a new scheduled message option is visible inside the ‘Group Info’ section. It is visible below options like ‘Media, Links and Docs’ and ‘Star’. It is clear from this that this feature will come built-in in the app itself, and not as some hidden experimental tool.

Why was there a shortage till now?
Scheduled messaging feature is already present on many other platforms. For example, Telegram allows users to select a specific date and time as well as a ‘Repeat’ option. The facility of message scheduling is also available in iMessage.

In comparison, WhatsApp users till now had to resort to tricks like third-party apps or Apple shortcuts. In such a situation, the absence of this feature on a platform with more than 2 billion users was in question for a long time.

What advanced features can be available?
At present it is not clear whether WhatsApp will give the option to schedule messages only once or the facility of repeat/recurring messages will also be available like Telegram. Right now this feature is not available even for beta testers. It is expected that first it will be given to limited users for testing and after feedback it will be rolled out for everyone.

If this feature is implemented properly, it can make reminders, business messaging, birthday wishes and communication across different time zones much easier. This may not be a big update with AI, but it can prove to be very useful for the users.
