Samsung says that Galaxy AI will no longer be limited to just one app, but will work at the operating system level. This will make the AI experience more natural, context-based and seamless.
Not one AI, many AI agents
According to Samsung, about 80% of users now use two or more AI tools for different tasks. Some use different AI for search, some for creating notes, reminders or content.
Keeping this trend in mind, Samsung has designed Galaxy AI in such a way that many AI agents can work together in it.
According to Won-Joon Choi, President of the company’s Mobile Experience (MX) business, ‘Galaxy AI will work like an orchestrator, which will combine different AI into a seamless experience.’
AI at system level, not app
Samsung has made it clear that Galaxy AI will not be just an app-based feature. This system will work at the framework level. That means the user will not need to change apps or repeat commands again and again.
In this direction, the company has partnered with Perplexity AI. Perplexity AI will be included as an additional AI agent in the upcoming flagship Galaxy devices.
Users will be able to activate it with the ‘Hey Plex’ wake phrase or by pressing the side button.
Deep integration into Galaxy apps
Perplexity AI will be integrated into apps like Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminders and Calendar. Its advantage will be that users will be able to do tasks like searching information, saving notes, setting reminders and managing schedules in a single flow, without having to change the app again and again.
What will change for users?
This step of Samsung shows that the company is now moving beyond ‘one AI assistant’ model towards an open AI ecosystem. Galaxy AI will now act as a connecting layer, combining different AI tools to create a unified experience.
Although information about supported devices and launch timeline will be given later, it is clear that Samsung wants to make the AI experience more flexible and user centric.
