Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 73,137 units in January, up 11.5% year-on-year. The company had sold 65,603 units in January last year. Domestic dispatches to dealers rose 9% to 59,107 units last month, compared with 54,003 units in the year-ago period. Exports increased to 14,030 units from 11,600 units in January 2024.
“Achieving our highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 59,107 units, alongside highest-ever total sales of 73,137 units with a strong 11.5% year-on-year growth, reflects not only Hyundai’s brand leadership but also the collective strength of our people, partners and customers,” said Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India.SML Mahindra Limited reported total sales of 1,337 units in January, up 30% from 1,025 units a year earlier.
Cargo vehicle sales rose 31% to 500 units in January, compared with 383 units in the same month last year. Passenger vehicle sales increased 30% to 837 units from 642 units a year ago.
For the April–January period of FY26, total sales stood at 12,672 units, marking a 19% increase from 10,618 units in the year-ago period.
Cargo vehicle sales during April–January grew 37% to 4,320 units from 3,153 units last year. Passenger vehicle sales rose 12% to 8,352 units, compared with 7,465 units in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Escorts Kubota Limited said its Agri Machinery Business sold 9,799 tractors in January 2026, up 46.9% from 6,669 tractors sold in January 2025.
Domestic tractor sales stood at 9,137 units in January 2026, registering a growth of 50.8% compared with 6,058 units in January 2025. Export tractor sales rose 8.3% to 662 units from 611 units a year earlier.
For the April–January period (10 months) of FY26, domestic tractor sales were at 1,05,687 units, up 15.1% from 91,820 units in the year-ago period. Export sales during the same period increased 46.6% to 5,525 units from 3,770 units last year.
Total tractor sales for April–January FY26 stood at 1,11,212 units, marking a 16.3% rise over 95,590 units in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd reported total sales of 71,066 units in January 2026, compared with 48,316 units in January 2025. The figures include sales of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales, including EVs, stood at 70,222 units, up 46.1% from 48,076 units a year earlier. International business (IB) sales rose to 844 units from 240 units, a growth of 251.7%.
Total passenger vehicle sales, including EVs, increased 47.1% year-on-year. EV sales across domestic and international markets were at 9,052 units in January 2026, up 72.7% from 5,240 units in January 2025.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd reported total auto sales of 1,04,309 vehicles in January 2026, up 24% year-on-year, including exports. Domestic utility vehicle sales stood at 63,510 units, a growth of 25%. Domestic commercial vehicle sales were at 27,656 units, up 22%.
Exports for the month totalled 3,577 units, compared with 3,404 units a year earlier, marking a 5% increase. The total vehicle sales figure includes SUVs, LCVs (under 3.5 tonnes), three-wheelers and exports.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., said, “Building on the strong momentum of last year’s performance, we began the year on a strong note in January by achieving SUV sales of 63,510 units, a growth of 25% and LCV< 3.5T sales of 27,656 units, a growth of 22%. The total vehicle sales stand at 104,309 units, a 24% year-on-year growth.”
“On 14th January, we opened bookings for XUV7XO and XEV 9S clocking 93,689 bookings for a booking value of ₹20,500 crore – a record-breaking milestone in just 4 hours,” he added.
Tata Motors Limited (formerly TML Commercial Vehicles Limited) reported total commercial vehicle sales of 41,549 units in January 2026, compared with 31,988 units in January 2025, a rise of 29.9% year-on-year.
Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 38,844 units, up 29.1% from 30,083 units a year earlier. International business sales rose 42% to 2,705 units from 1,905 units.
By segment, HCV truck sales increased to 12,691 units from 8,990 units, while ILMCV truck sales rose to 7,071 units from 5,298 units. Passenger carrier sales were at 4,562 units compared with 4,582 units a year ago. SCV cargo and pickup sales grew to 14,520 units from 11,213 units.
Domestic MH&ICV sales in January 2026 were at 19,676 units, compared with 15,137 units in January 2025. Domestic and international MH&ICV sales together stood at 20,792 units, up from 16,076 units a year earlier.
Kia India reported total sales of 27,603 units in January 2026, up 10.3% from 25,025 units sold in January 2025. The company said demand during the month was supported by the new-generation Seltos, the Sonet, and the Carens Clavis and Clavis EV.

Renault India reported total wholesales of 3,715 units in January 2026, up 33.6% from 2,780 units in January 2025. The company said sales were driven by demand for the Kiger and Triber, which together posted 45.3% year-on-year growth.

Odysse Electric Vehicles reported sales of 1,058 units in January 2026, up 275% from 282 units in January 2025. The company said demand was supported by its portfolio, including the Racer Neo, Snap, HyFy and Odysse SUN models, and expansion across more cities.
“Starting 2026 with such strong sales figures is a powerful validation of our product portfolio and our unwavering customer-first approach. Our growth this month is not just a number; it represents the trust Indian commuters are placing in Odysse,” said Nemin Vora, CEO, Odysse Electric.
Hero MotoCorp reported dispatches of 5,57,871 units in January 2026, up about 26% from 4,42,873 units in January 2025. The company recorded 4,91,986 VAHAN registrations during the month, indicating retail momentum.
The company said growth was supported by demand in the scooter segment, including Xoom and Destini, as well as motorcycles such as Xtreme and Glamour X.
VIDA, the company’s emerging mobility business, recorded 13,000 VAHAN registrations in January 2026, posting about 21% month-on-month growth compared with 10,701 units in the previous month.
Hero MotoCorp’s global business dispatches rose about 24% to 37,663 units in January 2026, compared with 30,495 units in the same period last year.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported total sales of 33,880 vehicles in January 2026, up 15% from 29,371 units in January 2025. Domestic sales rose 17% year-on-year to 30,630 units, while exports edged up to 3,250 units from 3,193 units a year earlier.
The company said demand remained steady for its MPV and SUV models, which continued to drive volumes during the month. Toyota also marked its entry into the battery-electric passenger vehicle segment in India with the launch of the Urban Cruiser Ebella. Prices for the model are yet to be announced.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 2,36,963 units in January 2026, its highest-ever monthly figure. This included domestic sales of 1,78,300 units, OEM sales of 7,643 units, and exports of 51,020 units, with exports hitting a record high.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,74,529 units, while light commercial vehicle sales were 3,771 units. Utility vehicles led volumes at 75,609 units, followed by compact cars at 72,738 units and vans at 11,914 units.
For April–January FY26, the company’s total sales reached 19,83,467 units, up from 18,41,882 units in the year-ago period, driven by growth in utility vehicles and exports.
In terms of factory output, the automaker reported total production of 2,26,146 vehicles in January 2026, up from 2,06,851 units in January 2025.
Passenger vehicle production stood at 2,21,977 units, compared with 2,01,984 units a year earlier. This included 1,08,944 units in the mini and compact car segment, down from 1,16,597 units last year, and 99,856 utility vehicles, up from 70,305 units.
Van production (Eeco) was 13,177 units, compared with 12,279 units in January 2025. Light commercial vehicle production (Super Carry) stood at 4,169 units, down from 4,867 units a year earlier.
TVS Motor Company reported total sales of 5,11,766 units in January 2026, up 29% from 3,97,623 units in January 2025. Electric vehicle sales grew 50% year-on-year to 37,756 units.
Total two-wheeler sales rose 28% to 4,94,195 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 30% to 3,83,262 units, driven by gains in both motorcycles and scooters. Motorcycle sales increased 26% to 2,19,188 units, while scooter sales rose 30% to 2,22,926 units.
The company’s international business recorded total exports of 1,22,343 units, up 21% from a year earlier. Two-wheeler exports rose 18% to 1,10,933 units. Three-wheeler sales increased 77% to 17,571 units during the month.
Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business reported domestic tractor sales of 38,484 units in January 2026, up 46% from 26,305 units in January 2025. Total tractor sales, including exports, stood at 40,643 units, compared with 27,557 units last year. Exports for the month rose 72% to 2,159 units.
Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, M&M Ltd., “We have sold 38,484 tractors in the domestic market during January 2026 registering a robust growth of 46% over last year. High reservoir levels have supported record growth in Rabi sowing. Expectations of government support and higher allocation in rural development in the budget today should positively influence agriculture and farm mechanisation in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 2,159 tractors, a growth of 72% over last year.”
For the April–January period of FY26, domestic tractor sales stood at 4,30,374 units, up 23% from 3,50,632 units. Exports during the period rose 24% to 16,861 units, taking total tractor sales to 4,47,235 units, up 23% year-on-year.
Mahindra’s Trucks & Buses Business reported overall sales of 3,065 trucks and buses (above 3.5 tonnes) in January 2026, including exports, marking a 40% year-on-year increase. The business includes Mahindra Trucks & Buses Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra Limited.Cargo vehicle sales rose 49% to 1,642 units, while passenger vehicle sales grew 30% to 1,423 units. For April–January FY26, total trucks and buses sales stood at 24,179 units, up 16% from a year earlier.
MTBD recorded 1,728 units in January 2026, up 48% year-on-year, including 1,142 cargo vehicles and 586 passenger vehicles. SML Mahindra posted 1,337 units, a 30% rise, with 500 cargo vehicles and 837 passenger vehicles sold.
Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman – SML and President – Aerospace, Defence, Trucks, Buses & CE, M&M, said, “Demand trends across the Indian CV industry have remained healthy, with supportive factors such as infrastructure spending, replacement demand, and strong rural activity driving growth since last quarter. The overall trajectory for FY26 appears robust, underpinned by continued government investments, fleet modernization, and resilient freight movement.”
Ashok Leyland reported total vehicle sales of 21,920 units in January 2026, including exports, up 27% from 17,213 units a year earlier. Domestic sales stood at 20,079 units, marking a 31% increase from 15,327 units in January 2025.
In the domestic market, M&HCV truck sales rose to 11,359 units from 7,839 units, while M&HCV bus sales declined to 1,474 units from 2,025 units. Total domestic M&HCV sales stood at 12,833 units, up 30%. LCV sales increased to 7,246 units from 5,463 units.
Including exports, M&HCV truck sales were 11,800 units and bus sales stood at 2,420 units. Total M&HCV sales reached 14,220 units, up 25% year-on-year. LCV sales, including exports, rose to 7,700 units.
For the April–January period, total vehicle sales (domestic + exports) stood at 1,72,899 units, compared with 1,53,134 units a year earlier.
VE Commercial Vehicles reported total sales of 10,601 units in January 2026, up 24.9% from 8,489 units in January 2025.
Eicher-branded trucks and buses (including EVs) recorded sales of 10,430 units, a 25.3% rise year-on-year. Domestic Eicher sales stood at 9,729 units, up 23.6%, driven by growth in light and medium-duty trucks and heavy-duty trucks. However, domestic bus volumes declined, with LMD bus sales down 11.4% and HD bus sales falling 65.4%.
Exports grew 55.8% to 701 units, supported by strong growth in bus and heavy-duty truck shipments. Volvo Trucks and Buses sales were 171 units in January, up 2.4% from a year earlier.
For the April–January period of FY26, total VECV sales reached 80,198 units, marking a 14.6% increase over the previous year.
Royal Enfield reported sales of 1,04,322 motorcycles in January 2026, up 14% from 91,132 units a year earlier. The company also crossed one million motorcycle sales in the current financial year within 10 months.
Domestic sales stood at 93,781 units, a 16% increase, while exports rose 5% to 10,541 units. For the year-to-date period, total sales reached 10,25,420 units, up 25% year-on-year.
B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Limited and CEO of Royal Enfield, said, “The new year has begun on a positive note for Royal Enfield- extending the strong momentum from the previous quarter and marking four consecutive months of healthy double-digit growth. We have crossed 1 million motorcycle sales in this financial year across the globe and also crossed 100,000 motorcycle sales in exports.”
During the month, Royal Enfield introduced the updated Goan Classic 350 and expanded brand engagement through its rider training initiative, Gymkhana, in Bengaluru. The company also partnered with Krafton India to feature Royal Enfield motorcycles in the BGMI gaming platform.
Force Motors Limited reported total sales of 3,764 units in January 2026, including domestic and export volumes, marking a 4.64% increase from 3,597 units in January 2025.
Domestic sales of small commercial vehicles (SCV), light commercial vehicles (LCV), utility vehicles (UV) and sports utility vehicles (SUV) stood at 3,665 units, up 4.92% from 3,493 units a year earlier.
Export sales in the same categories were 99 units, compared with 104 units in January 2025, reflecting a 4.81% decline year-on-year.
Atul Auto reported total sales of 3,606 three-wheelers in January 2026 (domestic + export), up 30.09% from 2,772 units in January 2025.
Domestic sales stood at 2,942 units, a 23.72% rise from 2,378 units a year earlier. This included 2,301 internal combustion engine (ICE) three-wheelers, up 40.82%, 537 L3 electric vehicles, up 3.47%, and 104 L5 electric vehicles, down 53.78% year-on-year.
Including exports, ICE three-wheeler sales were 2,965 units, a 46.20% increase. L3 EV sales remained at 537 units, while L5 EV sales were 104 units.
For the April–January period of FY26, total sales (domestic + export) reached 30,799 units, compared with 27,419 units a year earlier, marking a 12.33% increase.
