AI Summit: CEO of a company doing big work in India scared of indigenous AI all over the world! also praised

ElevenLabs is the world’s largest voice AI company, which creates AI models that speak in human-like voices. Its CEO and co-founder Mati Staniszewski recently gave an interview to Moneycontrol during the India AI Impact Summit. He told that India is the second largest business market for him. From this perspective it is very important. In this interview, he appeared a little nervous about India’s indigenous AI Sarvam AI. Maati openly praised the team and founders of Sarvam and also called the voice quality of their models great. But at the same time he stressed that for a complete solution, only the best model is not enough, the best product, enterprise scale, reliability, workflow and configuration are also required. He reiterated again and again that ElevenLabs does not just make models, but provides production-ready solutions at the enterprise level.

Let us tell you that the company ElevenLabs is opening an office in Bangalore, India. There is a plan to hire 100 people and a target of annual revenue of 100 million dollars has been set. In the conversation, Indian languages, celebrity voices, impact of AI on jobs and future planning were discussed.

What is ElevenLabs and what is its interest in India?
ElevenLabs is a global voice AI leader, which recently raised $500 million in funding and brings its valuation to $11 billion. India is its second largest enterprise market. The company’s target here is to earn $100 million annual recurring revenue (ARR). India is a voice-first country, where people talk more through voice than through screen, so there are big opportunities here.

What does AI Impact Summit mean for ElevenLabs?
This summit is very exciting for the company. We started in 2022 and created voice models that deliver human-like emotions and tone. Our use cases in India grew very rapidly. Here we meet customers, learn new innovations and take them to the world.

How does India’s large population benefit ElevenLabs?
The scale of India is amazing. We work with companies like Meesho, IDFC Bank, TVS Motors—24×7 no wait support. We never think of India as an afterthought. Our models support Hindi, Tamil well from the start and now cover 11 Indian languages. Meesho’s partnership with ElevenLabs uses ElevenLabs’ real-time voice agent. This AI voice bot handles more than 60,000 customer calls (Hindi and English) daily. These calls are for queries like order status, delay in delivery, cancellation, refund etc.

What are ElevenLabs’ India plans? Tell us about Bangalore office.
With the funding we will enable international expansion, agents and create new models. Will create ground team in India – for sales, engineering and product. Will hire 100 people soon. Office is opening in Bangalore. Today India is the second biggest market and we aim at 100 million ARR.

330 million ARR in 2025. How will scale-up happen further?
Customer support has strengthened in the last 6-9 months. Companies are using agents on WhatsApp, phone and web. In 2025-2026, large businesses will automate support through voice agents. Then proactive agents—like the voice concierge on Meesho that helps with product selection and checkout. It will also be used extensively in healthcare and education.

What will ElevenLabs bring next from Voice?
Voice alone is not enough—knowledge and integrations are also needed. ElevenAgents platform allows businesses to enter their documents and logic. Salesforce connects to local telephony. Test, improve and deploy step by step with data safety.

How will Sarvam compete with local competitors like AI?
Sarvam’s team and founders are fantastic, voice quality is good. We also support 11 languages. But for complete solution best model + best product is required. We build models and deliver configuration, reliability, and workflows for enterprise scale. We stay ahead by maintaining a balance between cost, quality and speed.

What is the plan on Indian celebrity voice partnership?
Yes, many talks are going on. The focus is on iconic voices of Bollywood-Tollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan. We are a voice marketplace with hundreds of Indian voices and we gave $1 million to the community. This voice can speak in any language. There will be some big announcements this year.

How will AI affect jobs? There is concern in BPO-IT.
Jobs change with every technology shift. Repetitive work will be done by voice agents, but people will go to complex tasks, proactive help. We are creating an ecosystem where people can participate. Some jobs will change, but new opportunities will open and users will get better service.
