Mohammed Siraj named Sportstar of the Year (Male) at Sportstar Aces 2026

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was named Sportstar of the Year (Male) at the Sportstar Aces Awards 2026 in Mumbai on Friday after a stellar year in which he emerged as one of the leading figures in India’s pace attack.

Siraj ended 2025 as the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, claiming 43 wickets at an average of 27. The Hyderabad pacer took giant strides during the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy against England, where he spearheaded India’s bowling unit in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

Siraj finished as the leading wicket-taker of the series with 23 scalps, including a match-winning nine-wicket haul of 4 for 86 and 5 for 104 in the final Test at The Oval, which helped India level the series 2–2. His performance in the match earned him the ICC Player of the Month for August.

Earlier in the year, playing for Gujarat Titans, Siraj also reached a personal milestone by completing 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League. He also registered his best IPL figures of four for 17 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
