The nineteenth season of the Indian Premier League is set to begin when Royal Challengers Bengaluru takes on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 28.
RCB will be led by Rajat Patidar, who skippered the team to the title in 2025, while SRH will be led by Ishan Kishan in the absence of full-time captain Pat Cummins.
Only one team, Rajasthan Royals, has made a change in its captaincy this season, with Riyan Parag taking over from the departing Sanju Samson on a permanent basis. The Royals are also one of two teams to make a change in the position of head coach, with Kumar Sangakkara taking over from Rahul Dravid.
The other team to make a similar change is Kolkata Knight Riders, where Abhishek Nayar has replaced Chandrakant Pandit.
