New Delhi. Chinese drone company DJI has launched its first 360-degree drone, which has created a new stir in the market. The name of this new drone is DJI Avata 360, which is considered to be a step ahead of the company’s traditional camera drone. This launch has happened at a time when the company is embroiled in a patent dispute with its competitor Insta360.
Drone equipped with 8K camera and advanced features
The new drone has a front-mounted omnidirectional camera, which can record HDR video at 8K resolution and 60 frames per second. It has four propellers, due to which its design looks similar to the drone launched earlier. Talking about the price, its starting price has been kept at around 4,388 Yuan, which brings it in the premium segment. It is capable of recording 360 degree video automatically.
Patent dispute increased tension
Just a few days before this launch, DJI has filed a patent infringement case against Insta360. This case pertains to six important patents related to the flight control technology, design and image processing of drones. In response, the CEO of Insta360 claimed that all these technologies are his company’s own invention.
Increasing competition in drone market
This segment of 360-degree drones is still new, but is growing rapidly. Last year, the company associated with Insta360 also launched its drone, due to which the competition became more intense. Now with this new step of DJI, the competition between the two companies has become more interesting.
Face to face between camera and drone
Both the companies are now entering each other’s territory. While DJI is entering the camera market, Insta360 is trying to establish its hold in the drone segment. It is clear from this that the race for technology and innovation is going to intensify in the coming times.
Legal battle may increase in future
Experts believe that such patent disputes may increase further in the future. Small companies usually pay more attention to research, while big companies adopt the legal route. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how this competition affects the direction of technology.
