Big change in WhatsApp, now messages will disappear as soon as read
WhatsApp is constantly bringing new features for its users, and now a privacy feature is being tested which can completely change the way of chatting. The company is bringing a new feature called ‘After Reading’, in which messages will be automatically deleted after reading. Till now the timer of disappearing messages in WhatsApp used to start after sending the message, but in the new update this timer will start after reading the message.
According to the report, this feature is currently being rolled out for some beta users of iOS. iPhone users are able to test it through WhatsApp’s TestFlight program. Gradually it will be extended to more users and later it may be available to everyone.
different times
In this new feature, users will get a new option of ‘After reading’, which will be visible in the disappearing messages setting. Through this you will be able to decide after how much time the message gets deleted after reading it. In this, options like 5 minutes, 1 hour and 12 hours can be given. If the other user does not read the message, WhatsApp will automatically delete it after 24 hours.
This feature will work only with the existing disappearing messages system, which already has timer options of 24 hours, 7 days and 90 days. If users want, they can apply it to a specific chat or set it as the default for all new chats. However, this feature will not be activated automatically, it will have to be turned on manually.
The biggest advantage of this feature is privacy. Many times we send such information which we do not want to keep in the chat for a long time. In such a situation, the ‘After Reading’ feature will ensure that the message does not remain saved for long after reading.
Although it is not yet clear when this feature will be released for all users, but it is expected that its rollout will become faster in the coming weeks.
This new feature of WhatsApp is going to take privacy to a new level and can prove to be very useful for the users in the future.
