Suryavanshi’s half-century on Monday is the third fastest in the history of the IPL. His opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal currently holds the record for the fastest ever fifty, a milestone he achieved in just 13 balls.
The 15-year-old smashed four boundaries and five sixes in his whirlwind innings, before eventually falling for 52 to Anshul Kamboj in the first over after the PowerPlay.
Suryavanshi shared that his plan was to attack the PowerPlay, saying, “The plan was to go big in the PowerPlay. The wicket was sticky early on but then it eased up. I thought of defending but the plan was to decide the game in the PowerPlay as we’d restricted them to a low score.
He also credited the management for backing him, noting, “The coaches have told me that they back me and they’re behind me. Our prep went well, we were here early, they told me to read the decision and back my game.”

The 15-year-old also holds the record for the second-fastest century, which he achieved in his debut IPL season in 2025 when he scored 101 of 35 balls, taking just five more balls than Chris Gayle did in 2013, who holds the record for the fastest-ever century.
