RR vs CSK, IPL 2026: Who is Brijesh Sharma, J&K bowler making his debut for Royals today?

Jammu and Kashmir pacer Brijesh Sharma is making his debut for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings in the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season at the ACA stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati.

Brijesh was acquired by RR at the 2026 IPL auction for his base price of Rs. 30 lakh.

Brijesh began his domestic journey at the U-19 and U-25 levels for Jammu and Kashmir.

The 27-year-old’s breakthrough moment came while playing in the 2025 Bengal Pro T20 League, where he claimed 11 wickets in just seven matches.

Brijesh will partner Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, and Sandeep Sharma in the seam bowling department. Royals will be looking for a better season this year after finishing a disappointing ninth in the 2025 season. He claimed his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing Kartik Sharma leg-before in the 11th over of the match.
