All-rounder Kerr was at the coalface of the tall order, which was scaled courtesy a 179-run knock of 139 balls. Wicketkeeper Isabella Gaze chipped in with crucial 68 runs.
“It’s just wanting to be in those moments and back to when I was a kid, that’s where I wanted to be, I wanted to be in those moments, hitting the winning runs for New Zealand, and that’s what I have always dreamt of,” Kerr said in the post-match press conference.
“Sometimes it does not go your way, but today it was about being in the present and when given the opportunities, take the game deep and make the most of it,” she added.
