KKR vs SRH IPL 2026: Who is Shivang Kumar, wrist spinner from Madhya Pradesh who made his debut for SRH?

Left-arm wrist spinner Shivang Kumar made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Shivang was bought by SRH at the auction for Rs. 30 lakh.

The 23-year-old hails from Madhya Pradesh, and has only played seven games in the domestic circuit so far — four T20s and three List A matches. However, in the limited opportunities he has had, Shivang has already left a mark.

He has recorded figures of 5/45 against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy earlier this year, his personal best, as well as 3/25 against Bihar in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The youngster also has a half-century to his name, having scored 67 of 69 balls against Jharkhand in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Hailing from the Rewa region of MP, Shivang began his journey under the tutelage of his father, an employee with the Railways. He shifted from being a right-armer to a left-arm wrist spinner upon his father’s advice.
