This initiative was not limited to just rules, but moved ahead with emphasis on bringing about change in people’s behaviour. ‘Suraksha Reloaded’ is taking this message forward through talks, presentations and public participation in cities across the country.
The program started with an energetic dance performance by Binita Chettri, which energized the atmosphere and gave the message that road safety is the responsibility of all of us. After this, the ‘Pratidhwani Art Studio’ team of Roshan Productions presented an impressive street play. Based on the theme of “Keeping Yamraj away”, the play showed the consequences of carelessness and the importance of responsible behavior through everyday incidents.
After this, famous actor and filmmaker Jatin Bora gave an emotional message from the stage. He said that road safety is not limited to just following the rules for oneself, but it is also important to take care of others. He talked about ‘turning care into duty’ and said that every step we take on the road affects someone’s life.
Stand-up comedian Harpal Singh presented a serious topic like road safety in a simple and effective manner through humor. He forced people to think by showing the carelessness that happens on the road every day in a funny manner.
Singer Deeptalina Deka added emotional depth to the program with her performance. He talked about the insensitivity seen among people during road accidents and mentioned the ‘Raahveer’ initiative, in which citizens who help accident victims are honored and encouraged. He underlined the importance of timely help and humanity.
This program was not limited to just presentations, but left a big message – road safety is not a difficult thing. It is hidden in small decisions, like wearing a helmet, following lane discipline, driving slowly and taking care of others.
At the end of the program, the message was given that safe roads are not created only by the system of rules and regulations, but by the responsible behavior of the people.
