In the previous match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at the stadium, both teams had to cancel their training sessions on the eve of the match because of rain and while the threat of rain had carried over to matchday, the match was held and completed without any interruptions.

Finally after that long wait, we’re going to have a match after all. The toss will take place at 9:55 PM. Eleven over match to begin at 10:10 PM provided we don’t have more rain. Powerplay will last for 3.2 overs, very interesting.

The central cover, above the 22 yards, is being removed by the groundsmen. Both sets of players have begun their warm-up, says Pranay. Unless it drizzles again, we might be having a game today.

Ground staff back in after rain stops again, says Pranay. One cover is being taken off now. Another spell of drizzle will surely put paid to the hopes of a game continuing, with the cut-off time for a 5-over game, just under two hours away.

Pranay with a positive update. He says the rain has stopped again. The fans are filtering out of the covered stands. No activity on the ground though. Have they given up hope? We will start losing overs from 8:40 PM.

Drizzle is back, informs Pranay. Not too intense, but our waiting game continues.

The drizzle has stopped temporarily. The super soppers are back on the field.

“Steady drizzle. Super soppers have stopped. The removed covers haven’t come back on. Fans have huddled into the shade,” says Pranay. We are in for an extended delay.

Our correspondent Pranay pings that the drizzle is back at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The toss is set to be delayed from the original time of 7 pm. Stay tuned.
