If we look at the price list, the ex-showroom price of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 starts from ₹ 1.37 lakh (base variant) and goes up to ₹ 1.69 lakh for the top variant. This easily comes within the budget. At the same time, the ex-showroom price of the new Triumph Speed T4 is ₹ 1.95 lakh. Triumph is definitely expensive, but it offers premium build quality, better braking and refinement. Now let us look at the design and specifications.
Design
The design of Hunter 350 is of retro street bike style. Round headlamps, spoke wheels (in some variants), flat seat and casual posture. It looks stylish in the city crowd and is available in 10 colors. The look of Triumph Speed T4 is more modern-classic. Sharp lines, LED lighting, alloy wheels and premium finish. Its riding posture is a bit sportier. Both are almost equal in weight (Hunter- 181 KG, Speed T4- 180 KG), but Triumph’s build feels more solid and premium.
Specifications
Both bikes have 13 liter fuel tank, dual-channel ABS (Triumph has a better setup) and telescopic front suspension. The Hunter has rear drum brakes (disc in some variants) while the Triumph has disc brakes at both ends (300 mm front, 270 mm rear). The Triumph has a 6-speed gearbox and torque-assist clutch, which makes shifting easier. Hunter has a 5-speed. The Triumph’s handling is more stable and confidence-inspiring.
Engine and Performance
Hunter 350 has a 349cc air-oil cooled single-cylinder J-series engine, which produces 20.2 bhp power and 27 Nm torque. It focuses on low-end torque, giving smooth riding in the city. Mileage is around 36 kmpl and top speed is 130 kmph. The performance is relaxed and thumpy.
Speed T4 has a 349cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, which produces 29 hp power and 31 Nm torque. With 6-speed gearbox, it is more refined, vibration-free and powerful. It completes the speed of 0-100 km/h in just 8 seconds. Mileage is around 30 kmpl.
Our advice: If you want budget, classic thump and easy city riding, then Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is better. At the same time, it would be right to choose Triumph Speed T4 for good performance, refinement, premium feel and dynamic riding. The price difference is ₹ 50-60 thousand, which is clearly visible in the performance. Take a test ride and decide which of these would be best to buy.
