The ex-showroom price of Flying Flea C6 in the Indian market has been kept at ₹ 2.79 lakh. At the same time, with BaaS scheme it can be purchased by paying only Rs 1.99 lakh. This price has been kept in comparison to electric bikes like Ola Roadster X, Revolt RV400 or Oben Rorr. Let us know how special it is going to be from design to battery and range?
Design and Styling
The design of Flying Flea C6 is very unique and sci-fi inspired. It is inspired by the old Flying Flea motorcycle, but completely reimagined. The most important thing is the front suspension. The traditional telescopic fork has been replaced with a girder fork made of aluminium, which combines 1940s style with modern performance. It also has articulating mudguard.
The battery covering is magnesium finned casing, which besides being light, helps in heat dissipation. The frame of the bike is exposed, has a floating seat layout and the pillion seat is removable. Overall, this is a compact, minimalist and premium looking bike. The weight is only 124 kg, which makes it the lightest bike of Royal Enfield. Seat height is 823 mm and ground clearance is 207 mm, which is perfect for city roads. The wheels are 19 inches on either side, the tires are 90/90-19 tubeless.
Battery, Motor and Range
Flying Flea C6 is powered by a 15.4 kW (about 20.6 bhp) permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), which gives a peak torque of 60 Nm. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via belt drive, which is smooth and low-maintenance. The speed of 0 to 60 km/h is achieved in just 3.7 seconds, while the top speed is 115 km/h. It has been given 5 riding modes – City, Rain, Highway, Sport and Custom.
The bike has a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is air-cooled. The company claims that according to IDC, a range of 154 km will be available on one charge. Charging from 20% to 80% with the onboard charger takes around 65 minutes, while 0-100% will take around 2 hours 16 minutes. Charging is done through a normal 3-pin socket.
Flying Flea C6 has touchscreen instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and connected features. Suspension consists of twin shocks with girder linkage at the front and monoshock at the rear. This bike is perfect for daily riding, commuting and light touring. Royal Enfield has entered electric mobility through Flying Flea C6, where modern performance has been given while maintaining the classic charm.
