TVS Ntorq 150 Review: How was the performance, mileage and features in the 300KM test? Know complete details

The TVS Ntorq series has always been a benchmark in the sporty scooter segment in India. TVS Ntorq 150, which recently joined the lineup, has been designed for those riders who are looking for more power and modern technology by crossing the 125cc limit. I have been driving this sporty looking scooter for the last 20 days.

During this period I have covered a distance of more than 300 kilometers. I have tested it in Noida in city traffic, some highway runs and on everyday roads. In the 150 cc segment, this scooter comes with sporty look, powerful engine and modern features, which makes it an attractive option for young riders. What did I think in my short term review? In which respects is this scooter good and in which respects does it need improvement? Let us know.

Design

The look of Ntorq 150 is quite aggressive and sporty. Stealth aircraft inspired design, quad projector LED headlamps, T-shaped tail lamps and naked handlebar make it attractive. The body lines are sharp and four color options (like Nitro Green) are available. 12 inch alloy wheels and 115 kg weight keep it light and handy. However, I found the finishing of some plastic parts to be quite average. Overall, it targets the youth and has good road presence.

Features

It is full of features. SmartXConnect Bluetooth system (in variants with TFT display) comes with navigation, call/SMS alerts, ride analytics and voice assistance. It has two riding modes – Street and Race, which change the throttle response. iGO Assist technology provides torque boost during fast acceleration. Features like hazard lamps, single channel ABS, USB charger and 22 liters of underseat storage (fits half-face helmets, full-face with difficulty) add to the practicality. The top variant also has a TFT screen, which I have ridden.

factorRating (out of 5)Comment

performance⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Powerful 150cc engine, 0-60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
Features⭐⭐⭐⭐TFT display, Bluetooth navigation, ride modes and iGO assist.
Comfort⭐⭐⭐⭐Light weight and good handling, best for city traffic.

Engine Specifications

It has a single cylinder, air-cooled, 3-valve engine with 149.7 cc capacity, which comes with O3C technology. This powertrain produces 13.2 PS power and 14.2 Nm torque. This 150 cc scooter accelerates from 0-60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and the top speed is 104 km/h. The fuel tank is of 5.8 litres. Wheelbase is 1285 mm, ground clearance 155 mm, seat height 770 mm and weight is 115 kg.

  • Breaks- There are 220 mm disc (ABS) options at the front and drum options at the rear.
  • suspension- There are telescopic hydraulics at the front and coil springs at the rear.
  • Tire size- There are 100/80-12 at the front and 110/80-12 (tubeless) at the rear.

Performance and Mileage

The engine is peppy and refined. Race mode provides fast response, while Street mode remains smooth and economical. The engine never overheated while riding 300 KM and easily reaches the speed of 95-100 km/h on the highway. In my mixed riding (city + highway) the mileage was around 32-35 KMPL. If you use race mode more then the mileage may drop slightly, but the overall running cost is much better.

riding experience

It is very fun in city traffic. Light weight, quick acceleration and good handling. 12 inch wheels increase maneuverability. The suspension works well on most roads, but feels a little harsh on bad roads. The ABS is very helpful with braking being confident. There was no vibration or heat issue in 300 KM. It remains stable even with pillion. Overall it is better for daily 50-100 KM commute.

Final Verdict: TVS Ntorq 150 is a good option for those who want a sporty 150cc scooter. The balance of power, features, mileage and handling makes it different in the segment. Considering the price (approximately ₹ 1.09-1.18 lakh ex-showroom), it seems to be value for money. However, if you want more storage, softer ride or 14 inch wheels, then this will not suit you completely. Based on 300 KM riding I can say that if you like performance and tech, then definitely try it. It has a score of 8/10 from my side.
