This new feature is given in the ‘Insights’ tab inside ‘Supervision Hub’. Here parents can see what topics their child is talking about on Meta AI. The special thing is that Meta does not show chats directly, but only categories of topics are shown. This also maintains the privacy of children and parents also get general information.
For example, if the child is interacting with the AI on topics like School, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Travel, Writing, or Health & Wellbeing, that category will appear. Sub-topics like fashion, food and holidays can also be seen under lifestyle. Whereas Health and Wellbeing can include information like fitness, physical health and mental health.
The purpose of this feature is not to spy on children, but to give parents a better way to initiate conversations. If a child is spending more time on a particular subject, parents can talk to him openly.

Currently this facility is available in America, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Brazil. Meta has said that it will be launched in other countries also in the coming weeks.
Apart from this, Meta has also formed a group of experts named ‘AI Wellbeing Expert Council’, which will help in making AI safer for the youth.
In today’s time when children are increasingly using AI, this feature can prove to be very useful for parents. This will improve both the safety and digital understanding of children.
