If you see ‘Server Error’ or ‘Something went wrong’ while searching on Google, don’t panic. Know how to check the internet, refresh the browser and continue working using options like Bing, DuckDuckGo.

This Tuesday morning, some people faced problems while searching anything on Google. People have complained that while searching anything on Google, messages like ‘Server Error’ or ‘Something went wrong’ were coming. Now the question is, what to do if such a problem happens to you and Google suddenly goes down.

There is no need to panic if Google stops. This is not an isolated incident. Many times, there is a temporary problem in Google’s servers, due to which millions of users around the world are not able to get search results.

The first thing to do when Google is down is to check your internet connection, whether it is Wi-Fi or mobile data. Refresh the browser or try pressing Ctrl + F5. Also check in other browsers like Firefox or Edge.

Try searching with both mobile data and Wi-Fi. To know the current status of Google, you can visit downdetector.in or downdetector.com.

If Google is not working then use these options. The best option is Bing.com. This is Microsoft’s search engine and in most cases gives results as good as Google. DuckDuckGo is great for privacy lovers because it doesn’t track your search history.

Yahoo Search also still works fine. If you want detailed answers then use AI search engines like Perplexity.ai. You can also ask questions from ChatGPT, Google Gemini or Grok.

Tips for mobile users- Instead of Google app, set another search engine as default in Chrome browser. Also always keep apps that work offline like Wikipedia and YouTube ready so that work can continue even when the internet is down.

Google being down is not a big problem. It usually resolves on its own within 10 to 30 minutes. But work should not be allowed to stop. Therefore, keep Bing, DuckDuckGo and AI tools ready in your phone and computer.
