India A squad for one-day Tri-Series: Tilak Varma named captain, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi included

The BCCI men’s selection committee on Thursday announced a 15-member India A squad for the one-day Tri-Series in Sri Lanka.

Tilak Varma, who’s currently playing for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League, has been named the captain for this team. Riyan Parag, the Rajasthan Royals skipper, has been named as Tilak’s deputy.

Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who was part of the India Under-19 World Cup-winning squad earlier this year, has also been named in this team.

This tournament will feature Afghanistan A apart from the host in Sri Lanka. After this white-ball series, India A will play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A, the squad for which will be announced later.
