Will MS Dhoni play for Chennai Super Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad?

Chennai Super Kings will be playing its final home game of the IPL 2026 season, as it hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chepauk on Monday.

This would be the last opportunity for the CSK faithful to watch talisman MS Dhoni in action.

The former CSK captain has not featured in any of the side’s 12 matches this season due to recurring calf and hamstring issues. Dhoni had also not travelled to Chepauk on CSK’s match days.

But, on Monday, Dhoni was seen getting out of the team bus and walking into the Stadium, raising speculations about a possible long-awaited appearance.

On the eve of the fixture, as has been the case before almost every home game, Dhoni padded up and headed into the open nets for an extended session against side-armers and net bowlers.
