Before deleting Instagram account, it is important to download your photos, videos and chat data. Know the easy steps by which you can secure complete Instagram data…
Save your moments before leaving Instagram
Today, Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world. Here users stay connected with friends and family through their photos, videos, stories and chat. But many people are now deciding to leave Instagram or delete their account for digital detox.
If you are also thinking like this, then the most important thing is to secure your data first, because once the account is deleted, your photos, videos, messages and other information cannot be recovered. The good thing is that Instagram gives its users the option to download the complete data.
How to download Instagram data?
Downloading all your data on Instagram is quite easy and you can do it from both the mobile app or computer.
- First of all, open the Instagram app or browser and login to your account.
- After this, go to your profile section and tap on the three lines (menu). Here you will get the option of “Settings and Activity”.
- Inside this, open the “Accounts Centre” section and then go to “Your Information and Permissions”. Here you will see the option of “Export Your Information”.
- Now click on “Create Export”. After this you can choose which data you want, like photos, videos, chats or complete account data. You can also set the date range, file format and quality as per your need.
- After this select your email ID, where you will get the download link. Finally you will have to enter your password so that the request can be confirmed.
When will the data be available?
After submitting the request, Instagram sends you a confirmation email. After this, within 30 days you will receive another email, which will contain a link to download your complete data.
Why is this process necessary?
Many users delete their accounts without taking a backup and later lose their memorable photos or important chats. Therefore this step is very important.
If you want to take a digital detox or leave Instagram for any reason, be sure to download your data first. This will keep your memories and important information safe and you will be able to delete your account without any worries.
