Gujarat Titans handed Chennai Super Kings its heaviest defeat in terms of runs in IPL history at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday night.
The 89-run loss ended CSK’s chances for the Playoffs, making it three years in a row that the five-time champion has failed to make it to the knockout stages.
CSK’s previous biggest defeat before today came in the 2013 season, when the side lost by 60 runs against Mumbai Indians.
