Samsung has now started releasing the One UI 8.5 update for older foldable phones and Galaxy A series devices as well. Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Galaxy A26 users are getting a new update based on Android 16, which includes AI features, new Quick Panel and security patch.
Samsung released big AI update, new features will be available in old phones too
Samsung has now started expanding the rollout of its One UI 8.5 update to more devices. Earlier this update was released only for Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series smartphones, but now the company is extending it to older foldable phones and some Galaxy A series devices as well. With the new update, many new AI features, design changes and security improvements are available based on Android 16.

This update is being rolled out in many global markets including India. According to reports, the firmware version of the update for Galaxy Z Fold 5 is F946BXXU6GZE2, while version F731BXXU6GZE3 has been released for Galaxy Z Flip 5.
This update is said to be of approximately 4GB size and also includes the security patch of April 2026. Through security updates, the phone will get better protection from new cyber threats and bugs.
Apart from this, news of Galaxy A26 users also getting One UI 8.5 update has come to light. Currently this update has been seen in Guatemala, but the rollout is expected to start in other countries soon.
New features will be available
Samsung has added many new AI features in One UI 8.5 update. This includes a new customizable Quick Panel, improved Galaxy AI tools and a refreshed Bixby assistant. Users will get to experience more personalization options and smoother interface.
If you have an eligible Samsung smartphone, you can check the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. It would be better if the phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery while downloading the update.
