The next generation model of Hyundai’s most popular mid-size SUV Creta is going to make a splash in the Indian market soon. Recently, in a social media video, the Next Gen Hyundai Creta (internally codenamed SX3) was seen testing with the older model. Design Updates

Major design changes will be seen in the new Creta. It is seen in the video that it will get a redesigned front grille, new LED headlamps, LED DRLs and a new hood. The side profile will have a sloping roofline, which will give it a sportier look. There will be redesigned taillights and bumpers at the rear. The new Creta will follow Hyundai’s new global design language, which is inspired by electric vehicles. It will also have aerodynamic alloy wheels, which can be available in 18 inch and 19 inch sizes.

Powertrain and performance

Mechanically, the new Creta will retain the existing engine options. It will have 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engines. These engines will be available with manual, IVT, DCT and torque converter automatic gearbox. The biggest update will be the stronger hybrid powertrain. Hyundai will pair the 1.5-litre petrol engine with two electric motors and a small battery pack. This will give excellent mileage in city traffic. This hybrid system will give direct competition to Maruti Grand Vitara.
