
Manish More, who served as the chairman of the U-15 girls selection committee last season, has been appointed in the same role for the senior women’s team while Ajay Kadam has been named the head coach.
The MCA said it has appointed a dedicated men’s U-23 selection committee. It has been done considering the tournaments being played at this as well as the senior level in order to ensure the committee is able to deliver a “wider coverage”.
“With a considerable volume of cricket being played at both the senior and Under-23 levels, the dedicated committee will enable wider coverage of matches and more focused assessment of performances, ensuring that deserving talent is identified and considered,” the MCA said in a statement.
“Our selectors and head coaches have been appointed after considering their experience, cricketing knowledge, and leadership qualities,” said Raju Kulkarni, chairman of MCA’s Cricket Improvement Committee.
Salvi, who also works as the batting coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, had guided Mumbai to their record-extending 42nd Ranji Trophy title in 2023-24.
A left-arm spinner, who also represented Baroda, Pawar played a total of 84 first-class matches taking 281 wickets, 36 List A matches taking 39 wickets and eight T20s in which he claimed six wickets. With six fifties, he also had a career-best of 95 not out.

The other members of the senior selection committee are Ravi Thakar, Jitendra Thackeray, Vikrant Yeligati and Ravi Kulkarni.
The U-23 men’s selection panel will be chaired by Deepak Jadhav, with Umesh Gothkindkar, Omkar Khanvilkar, Anoop Sabnis and Shridhar Mandale as the other members.
The senior women’s selection panel will have Kalpana Cardoso, Aparna Chavan, Ashish Mahadeshwar and Seema Pujare as other members.
Sunita Singh will be the chairperson of the U-19 committee which also has Sangeeta Kamat, Veena Paralkar, Kalpana Murkar and Sheetal Sakru.
