Does your AC take time to cool the room? Know the correct fan speed of AC, how to use it with ceiling fan and those easy tips which can improve cooling and also reduce electricity bills.
Do you keep the fan speed of AC correct? One mistake can reduce cooling
While running the AC during the summer season, most people just reduce the temperature and leave the fan speed on auto or medium. But the real secret lies in the fan speed. By choosing the right speed, you can increase the cooling of the AC by almost double and cool the room faster.
Benefits of running the fan at high speed- When you run the AC at high fan speed, the blower fan inside the AC rotates fast. Due to this, cold air spreads rapidly throughout the room. The room cools down very quickly (especially when the room is already warm).
The air circulates well, coolness reaches every corner.
By driving at high speed in the first 30-40 minutes, the temperature drops very quickly.
Many people think that it gets more cooling at low speed, but this is partially true. At low speed the air comes out cooler, but it spreads slowly. Therefore, if you need large rooms or quick cooling, high speed is better.
The real secret – the right way
According to experts, the best method is:
- Run high speed initially (first 20-40 minutes) – to cool the room quickly.
- When the room cools down, turn it to medium speed – this ensures cooling and also saves electricity.
The biggest secret: Run the ceiling fan with AC at medium speed.
The ceiling fan pushes cold air downwards. Due to this, double cooling is felt in the entire room from a single AC. Many people say that this combination provides 2-3 degrees more cooling and the AC has to work less hard.
More important tips
- Keep the temperature of AC between 24-26 degrees. This ensures good cooling and also reduces bills.
- Keep swing mode on so that the wind spreads in every direction.
- Keep the curtains of the room closed and close the doors and windows properly.
- Keep the AC filter clean – Dirty filter reduces cooling.
Note: In very humid weather, low speed may be better because it provides better dehumidification. But in normal summer, high or medium speed + ceiling fan is most effective.
By adopting this little secret, you will not only get fast cooling but will also save electricity bill to some extent. Next time you turn on the AC, try setting the fan speed to high – you will feel the difference yourself.
