According to the report of WABetaInfo, a website that provides new information related to WhatsApp, this feature has been seen during development in version 2.26.22.7 of WhatsApp Beta for Android. However, at present this feature is not available even for testers.
How will the new feature work?
According to the report, after typing the message, users will be able to see additional options by long pressing the Send button. Here a new option named ‘Send as View Once’ can be found.

If the user chooses this option, then the other person will be able to read that message only once. As soon as the message is opened, it will disappear from the chat and will not be accessible again.
View Once feature already exists
WhatsApp already provides View Once feature for photos, videos and voice messages. Media files sent through this feature cannot be opened again once viewed.
Apart from this, View Once photos and videos cannot be saved, forwarded or exported. In many cases, WhatsApp also blocks screenshots and screen recording.
If the same facility comes for text messages also, then users will be able to share passwords, OTP, personal information or other sensitive details in a more secure manner.
Work on Spoiler Message feature also
According to reports, WhatsApp is also working on another new feature ‘Spoiler Messages’. In this feature, some part of the message will appear blurred and to read it the user will have to tap on it. This feature can prove helpful in sharing passwords, verification codes or other personal information.
At present, WhatsApp has not announced the launch date of these features. It is expected that these will be released first for beta testers and later will be extended to all users.
