Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition launched, MotoGP style and 47.6hp power for ₹ 3.99 lakh

Aprilia has launched the Special Edition of its popular naked streetfighter bike Tuono 457 in India. Its price has been fixed at ₹ 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). This variant mainly comes with stylish updates, MotoGP-inspired graphics and focus on rider comfort. These are available in two attractive color options – Mamba Black and Puma Grey. This special edition is an upgraded version of Tuono 457 (which was earlier launched at ₹ 3.95 lakh). Aprilia claims that this bike offers the best power-to-weight ratio in its segment.

The ergonomics in Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition have been improved, so that there is comfort even in long rides. This motorcycle is perfect for young enthusiasts and performance-oriented riders who want the excitement of a naked bike but also a little more practicality. The special edition has been given updates like flyscreen, revised seat, adjustable brake lever and recalibrated suspension, which make it better for everyday riding and sporty performance.

The design of the Tuono 457 Special Edition is aggressive and minimalistic, maintaining the company’s iconic naked bike philosophy. It has a small spoiler with triple full-LED headlamps, which is inspired by the Tuono 1000 R. New MotoGP-style graphics and logo make it more special. The fuel tank has been optimized for upright position, which makes handling easy.

The new Mamba Black color gives a sharp and premium look, while the Puma Gray has a more sporty appeal. The aluminum frame of the bike is exposed, giving it a lightweight and muscular look. The 17-inch wheels are shod with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres, which provide excellent grip and handling. Overall this bike is a statement piece on the road.

Specifications

Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition is powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, which generates 47.6 hp power @ 9400 rpm and 43.5 Nm torque @ 6700 rpm. With 6-speed gearbox it can give a top speed of up to 190 kmph. Dry weight is only 159 KG (kerb weight approx 175 kg), making it the lightest in the segment.

Suspension consists of a 41mm USD fork (120mm travel, preload adjustable) and rear monoshock (130mm travel), which has been recalibrated in the special edition. For braking, there are 320mm discs at the front and 220mm discs at the rear. The fuel tank is of 12.7 litres. Seat height is 800mm, which is manageable for most riders.
