Shree Charani breaks record for most wickets by an Indian in single Women’s T20 World Cup edition


Young left-arm spinner N. Shree Charani broke the record for most wickets taken by an Indian in a single edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup on Thursday.

She removed Bangladesh’s Shorna Akter in the 20th over to pick her 11th wicket of the edition, going past Poonam Yadav’s 10-wicket tournament haul from the 2020 edition.

The overall record stands at 15 scalps in the name of New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr, which she recorded in the previous edition which was eventually won by the Kiwis.
