Following the first case of Ebola detected in France in a person coming from Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Congolese government has decided to impose a mandatory 21-day isolation for all people coming from areas affected by the epidemic, according to a statement from the Ministry of Communication and Media.
Regarding the case detected in France, the national executive specified that it is a doctor working for the humanitarian organization Alima, who stayed in Bunia, in the province of Ituri, the epicenter of the epidemic.
According to information provided by the government, “the person in question showed no clinical signs suggestive of Ebola virus disease either at the time of his departure from Bunia, or during his stay in Kinshasa.”
