A new and very handy feature has come in Google Wallet, which will automatically extract receipts and tracking numbers of online shopping from the Gmail inbox of the users. With the help of this information, now the live status of your parcel will be visible directly on the home screen of Google Wallet app. Under this feature, which is currently being tested in America, this entire update will be visible right next to your payment cards, so that you will not need to open different apps or visit courier websites to track your goods.

New Delhi. Millions of users doing online shopping often have to struggle a lot to track the delivery of their orders. Sometimes one has to open Amazon, and sometimes one has to go to the website of the courier company and paste a long tracking number. To end this problem of users forever, tech giant Google has made a revolutionary change in its digital wallet app. Now your Google Wallet will not only be a medium for money transactions or keeping your cards safe, but it will also keep a close eye on every parcel coming to your home.
This entire system works very smartly in the background. As soon as you purchase an item from an e-commerce website or online store, its digital bill and tracking ID immediately arrives in your Gmail inbox. This new feature of Google will directly scan your Gmail and automatically extract all the important information related to shipping from there. After this, all this information will be synced directly into the Google Wallet interface, allowing the user to see everything live at one place.
Status will be visible next to the cards and the feature will be activated like this
The most special thing about this new update is its user interface. When you open the Google Wallet app on your phone, the live status of your parcel will also be visible on the same home screen where your debit card, credit card or digital payment methods are visible. With this, as soon as users open the app, they will immediately know where their order has reached and when it is going to be delivered. If you want to see the complete details of your parcel, you just have to click on that package entry, after which the complete detailed tracking report will open in front of you. As soon as the goods are delivered to your home, you can manually remove that notification, although the system will also remove it automatically after a few days.
Privacy and Security
Google has also completely clarified the situation regarding privacy and security. The company says that by turning on this feature of package tracking in the Wallet app, none of your emails saved in Gmail will be tampered with, nor will there be any change in their original format. However, to take advantage of this excellent and easy service, users will have to make a small change in their Gmail account. Users will have to go to Gmail’s settings and enable the option of “Google Workspace smart features”. If this setting is turned off in your account, Google Wallet won’t be able to read data from your inbox and this feature won’t work.
Currently testing in America
If we look at technological history, this concept is not completely new for Google. Earlier, the company had also successfully experimented with tracking packages through emails through its popular but now defunct ‘Google Now’ service, which later evolved into the ‘Google Discover’ feed. But this time the company has made it more useful by connecting it directly to its payment platform i.e. Google Wallet. However, initially there are some limitations associated with this service. Currently, the tech giant is testing this feature only for selected users in the United States (US), which can be released globally in the coming time.
