Jamshedpur. Monsoon has arrived in Jharkhand and intermittent rains have started in many areas of the state. While the rainy season gives people relief from the heat, it is also a time for car owners to be extra careful. If some important checks of the vehicle are done in time, then many problems and big expenses caused during the rains can be avoided.

Get your car checked before the rains
Giving information to Local 18, ASL Motors Service Head Pooja says that before the onset of monsoon, basic health checkup of the vehicle must be done. First of all check the wiper blades. If the wiper is not cleaning the glass properly or is making noise, get it replaced. Clear visibility is very important during rain.

Apart from this, it is also important to check the condition of the battery. Due to increase in humidity during rainy season, a weak battery may suddenly respond. Get it checked whether the terminals of the battery are clean or not and whether its charging is correct or not.

There should be no problem of water leakage
The headlights, taillights, indicators and fog lamps should also be fully functional. Good lighting is very important for safe driving during rain and fog. Vehicles which have sunroof should also get their drainage pipe and seal checked, so that there is no problem of water leakage.

Get tires and brakes shown too
Pooja says that special attention should be paid to the condition of tyres. Tire tread should be sufficient so that the vehicle can maintain good grip on the road. Worn tires can cause accidents on slippery roads. Also maintain correct air pressure in the tyre.

Checking the brake system of the car is also very important. If there is any noise when braking or braking feels weak, then immediately take it to the service center. Roads become slippery in the rain, so a strong braking system is very important.

Water should not enter the vehicle
Also check the levels of engine oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid and other important fluids. There should be sufficient amount of washer fluid to clean the dirt accumulated on the glass during rain. Also check the rubber beading of doors and windows, so that water does not come inside the vehicle.

Always keep these items in the car
Experts recommend always keeping a torch, umbrella, tow rope, first aid kit and a list of emergency numbers in the car. If all these things are taken care of before the onset of monsoon, the vehicle will be safe, the journey will be comfortable and huge repair expenses in future can also be avoided.
