An unbeaten century from Sai Sudharsan (104* off 184 balls) and Devdutt Padikkal’s 94* off 151 helped India A finish Day 2 on 247/1 and establish firm control against Sri Lanka A in the second unofficial Test at Galle on Friday.

Sudharsan’s century was his second hundred in a row, after he scored a century in the first innings of the first Test at the same venue a week ago.

Batting first, Sri Lanka A were bowled out for 366 with captain Sahan Arichchige leading from the front with a fine hundred (127 off 207 balls). Gurnoor Brar and Saransh Jain were the pick of the bowlers for the visitor, picking up four wickets apiece.

In the second innings, openers Sudharsan and Aman Mokhade stitched together a 50-run opening stand before the latter fell for 38 off 48 balls.

However, Sudharsan and Padikkal ensured the momentum kept going on their way to an unbroken 181-run partnership.

The Gujarat Titans opener brought up the three figure mark, his 10th List A hundred off 166 deliveries while Padikkal reached his fifty off 67 balls, his second fifty of the series.

India A trail the host by 119 runs with nine wickets in hand.
