Sanju Samson has been dropped from India’s squad for its upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, with Prabhsimran Singh earning a maiden call-up to the senior team.

Samson, who was Player of the Tournament in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 title-winning campaign earlier this year, had played three matches before losing his spot to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Prabhsimran had an inconsistent IPL 2026 season, scoring 510 runs at a strike-rate of 168.87 for Punjab Kings but falling away as the tournament progressed.

Among the other changes, Harsh Dubey, Yash Thakur, and Ashok Sharma have been called up while Rinku Singh and Mayank Yadav both return to the squad.

The BCCI also announced that Shivam Dube will replace Nitish Kumar Reddy in India’s squad for the ODI series against England after Nitish was ruled out through injury.
