Yamaha Aerox-E has been launched in the Indian market.
Yamaha Motor India has launched its first high-performance electric scooter Aerox-E. Its ex-showroom price in the Indian market has been kept at ₹ 2.82 lakh. This is the electric avatar of the popular Aerox 155, which offers a great combination of sporty looks, strong performance and practical EV features.
Aerox-E is ideal for riders who want thrilling riding along with daily commuting. Yamaha has retained the popular heart-shaking Speedster design philosophy of the ICE model. Twin LED headlamps, sharp body lines, X motif and aggressive styling make it distinct on the road. This scooter will stand strongly against performance-oriented EV scooters like Ather 450X or TVS Let’s take a look at the details from its design to battery, motor and range.
Design and dimensions
The design of Aerox-E is almost similar to ICE Aerox 155. Length is 1980 mm, width is 700 mm, height is 1150 mm and wheelbase has increased slightly to 1360 mm. Weight is 139 kg (13 kg more than ICE). Twin LED headlamps and DRLs at the front, 14-inch alloy wheels, wide tires and 3D LED taillights are available at the rear. Blue highlights with white color give it a premium look. Underseat storage is slightly less (15 litres) compared to the ICE, as the battery is fitted here.
Features and safety
The company offers it a 5-inch color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, Y-Connect app, smart key system, USB charging port, three riding modes (Eco, Standard, Power) and reverse mode. In terms of safety, Aerox-E has front and rear disc brakes, single-channel ABS and traction control. It provides stability and braking even at high-speed.
Battery, Motor and Range
The Aerox-E is equipped with two removable 1.5 kWh battery packs (total 3 kWh). The weight of each battery is 13 kg. The scooter will also be able to run on a single battery, although some reduction in performance may be seen during that time. Both batteries take about 6 hours 20 minutes to fully charge. It has a 9.4 kW motor, which gives 12.6 bhp power and 48 Nm torque. Claimed top speed is 95.5 kmph and IDC certified range is 117 km.
