The company has told about its new service that users will be able to make audio and video calls directly from their browser without downloading any desktop application. This means that you will be able to avail this service from your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop without downloading the app.

The company said in a blog post that this feature is also to improve the experience of transferring calls from one device to another and is part of many new updates brought in this direction. Now both normal and group calls can be made in the web calling feature of WhatsApp. Along with this, users will also be able to use features like sharing their screen, giving feedback and a separate call tab for call history and favorite contacts.

Where will the service be useful?
The company said that whether you are a student studying on a shared computer or are in an office where you are using a laptop and app download is not allowed or you just prefer to use the browser, now you can easily make calls without leaving the browser. For this you will neither need to download the app nor use your mobile. In this facility you will be able to make both audio and video calls.

Call transfer facility also available
WhatsApp has also introduced call transfer facility with it. With its help, users will be able to easily transfer the existing group call from one device to another without disconnecting the call. To strengthen the security and management of group calls, WhatsApp has also introduced the ‘Waiting Room’ feature. In this, users will be kept in an artificial waiting, from where the host will join the call after getting permission.

WhatsApp has also given two technical upgrades in this feature to improve the call quality. The ‘QuickHD’ feature delivers high quality video as soon as the call starts. At the same time, the ‘Noise Suppression’ feature makes the audio more clear by reducing background noise. WhatsApp said that all these new features are being delivered to the users in a phased manner. With this, video and audio calling will be made easier and better.
