Indians in County Cricket: Chahal picks four wickets, Kuldeep’s Yorkshire loses to Middlesex

Yuzvendra Chahal had a day to remember has he ended with four for 60 in Northamptonshire’s 67-run victory over Lancashire on Sunday in the One-Day Cup, England’s List A tournament.

The India leg-spinner bowled nine over and got the wickets of Marcus Harris, Arav Shetty, Jack Blatherwick and Ollie Sutton.

Chahal’s haul meant Lancashire was bundled out for 280 runs in its chase of 348 runs.

In the four games before Sunday’s contest, Chahal had six wickets. He had curbed the run rate of opponents but struggled to get wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav picked another wicket but Yorkshire suffered a defeat against Middlesex on Sunday.

The Indian left-arm spinner returned one for 55 from his 10 overs and accounted for middle-order batter Zafar Gohar. Yorkshire was able to restrict its opponent to just 247 runs but struggled to chase down the total, losing by 35 runs.

For Hampshire, Ashutosh Sharma, after the high of a five-wicket haul, had a listless outing against Durham as he was nabbed for a four-ball duck. With the ball, he conceded 13 runs in two overs as Hampshire lost by nine wickets.
