How eVerse.AI Is Merging AI, Climate Tech and Farmer Welfare

From Silicon Valley to Smallholder Farms
Ashish Sonkusare left his role as Head of AI/ML at AWS to return to his roots. A computer science engineer from IIT Bombay, he spent over 25 years working with leading technology companies in the US. Yet the struggles of his family’s dairy business stayed with him.

He saw how difficult it was for farmers to make dairy profitable. That experience became the foundation for eVerse.AI. In 2022, Sonkusare co-founded the company with Vidhi Gaur and Shailendra to bring modern, affordable technology to Indian dairy farms.
Making Dairy Smarter and Greener
eVerse.AI builds technology that helps farmers improve milk yield and animal health. Its wearable cow collars and LoRaWAN-based devices track nutrition, fertility, and disease indicators. Farmers receive alerts that help them act early and manage livestock more effectively.
The company also focuses on reducing methane emissions through feed additives and targeted interventions. Its GreenCow product line and MRV platform help dairy operations measure and verify climate impact. In several states, these solutions have helped cut methane emissions by up to 30%.
“Our goal is to help farmers become net zero while making their business more profitable,” says Sonkusare.
Serving a $200 Billion Opportunity
India’s dairy industry is valued at nearly $200 billion and continues to grow at a strong pace. eVerse.AI works with large cooperatives such as Amul, Mother Dairy, Banas Dairy, and NDDB. It also partners with government departments, FPOs, and individual farmers.
The company earns revenue through hardware sales, SaaS subscriptions, and carbon credit generation. It is already profitable and expects to reach Rs 9 crore in revenue this year. eVerse.AI is also executing one of the largest dairy methane reduction projects globally.
A Team Built for Purpose
The founding team combines deep technology expertise with operational experience. Sonkusare leads product and engineering. Vidhi Gaur heads carbon markets. Shailendra oversees operations in India. The broader team spans AI, hardware, software, operations, sales, and customer support.

eVerse.AI has received early support from T-Hub, IIT Mandi, IIT BHU, and Action for India through grants and mentorship. The startup has earned multiple recognitions, including Tech30, Dairy Startup of the Year, and MSME Startup of the Year.
Challenges, Growth and What’s Next
Building advanced technology that remains affordable has been a key challenge. To address this, eVerse.AI runs training programs to help farmers understand and use its products effectively. The company is now raising external funding to scale faster.
Upcoming launches include handheld methane reduction devices and expanded climate platforms. International expansion is planned for New Zealand and Africa. Despite growth ambitions, the company remains focused on its core mission.
“You must build with a purpose,” says Sonkusare. “Profit with purpose is the only way forward”.
