Participating in a programme organised to mark “Veer Bal Diwas” at the party State office in Bengaluru, BJP State president B.Y. Vijayendra alleged that the Congress, which came to power with a lot of hopes among people, had exposed itself within 48 hours of formation of the government. “This is because the true colours of the Congress came out as it stopped the scheme under which the then Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa was providing ₹4,000 in addition to the ₹ 6,000 being given under Kisam Samman scheme of the Centre. Similarly, the Vidya Nidhi scheme started by the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for children of farmers too had been stopped,” he alleged.
Mr. Vijayendra felicitated the victorious members of town panchayat polls on the occasion, and said the party’s performance had exceeded expectations.
Meanwhile BJP MLC N. Ravikumar alleged that the administrative machinery had collapsed in the leadership tussle between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, he alleged that, ”While the condition of roads had become pathetic throughout the State, farmers are yet to get compensation towards crop losses. The government did not have funds which was visible with some of the officials yet to get their salary arrears. Similarly, no new recruitment had taken place.”
